Description

Develop and maintain iSeries code for retail domain applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and develop iSeries programs using RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and CL.
• Create functional specifications, data mapping documents, and business rule documentation.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and peer reviews to ensure scalability and best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, business areas, and QA to define and document requirements.
• Provide 2nd level support for incident tickets, create KB articles, and participate in on-call rotations.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in iSeries programming.
• Proficiency in RPG, RPG ILE, SQLRPGLE, and Control Language (CLP/CLLE).
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries, embedded SQL, cursor programming, and stored procedures.
• Experience with database concepts including Physical Files, Logical Files, SQL tables, indexes, and views.
• Working knowledge of screen programming using Display Files, Subfiles, and Printer files.
• Experience with ILE programming, including program modules, binding directories, and service programs.
• Knowledge of Message Queue (MQ), MQ Triggers, and embedding XML tags in RPG programs.
• Ability to analyze program and data flows to document business rules.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Turnover configuration management, X-Analysis, or ROBOT job scheduler.
• Knowledge of iSeries Navigator, Star Schema databases, and retail domain logic.
