Description

Lead technical aspects of data center and application migration projects, managing the end-to-end lifecycle from dependency mapping to execution.

Responsibilities

• Execute migration waves within large, complex, or shared environments.
• Develop detailed playbooks, migration plans, and procedures including shutdown, cutover, startup, and back-out strategies.
• Document application dependencies and infrastructure requirements between source and target data centers.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for infrastructure and engineering during migration waves.
• Lead sub-plans for consulting projects and mentor less experienced analysts.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in datacenter migration and consolidation lifecycles.
• Advanced knowledge of application mapping tools, techniques, and principles.
• Proficiency with RHEL Linux, Solaris, Windows, HPUX, and AIX operating systems.
• Experience managing Oracle, SQL, and DB2 databases.
• Hands-on expertise with virtualization (ESX/VMware, nPar/vPar) and storage provisioning.
• Knowledge of clustering and high availability including VCS, Microsoft/SQL Clusters, and load balancing (F5-GTM/LTM).
• Strong networking foundation in TCP/IP, UDP, IPsec, VRRP, OSPF, and DMVPN.
• Experience with Exadata, Golden Gate, and DataGuard.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Global Load Balancing (GLB), DNS, and granular recovery.
