Description

You will own and maintain IT controls and process automation software for optical fiber manufacturing operations.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain process control systems, manufacturing execution systems, and ancillary data feeds.
• Provide production support and troubleshooting for 24/7 manufacturing operations, including rotational weekend support.
• Develop and modify web-based or stand-alone applications to support manufacturing processes.
• Lead capital projects by managing activities to meet objectives within budget and timeline constraints.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement process improvements and optimize product quality.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in industrial automation or related roles.
• Strong programming proficiency in C, C#, and VB.Net.
• Experience with PLC programming or Real Time Operating Systems.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic 6 and C++.
• Experience with iFIX or equivalent SCADA packages.
• Proficiency with MSMQ and XML.
• Experience managing relational databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.

Preferred Skills

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting OPC UA, classic OPC, or EtherNet/IP protocols.
• Knowledge of REST API and web applications.
• Experience integrating computers into manufacturing processes to increase efficiency.
