Description

Maintain and troubleshoot a mixed fleet of Windows and Fedora workstations, database servers, and peripheral devices on a lab network. Provision and image new machines, manage user accounts, and support non-technical operators with day-to-day issues.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot a mixed fleet of Windows and Fedora Linux workstations plus database servers.
• Provision and image new machines to keep the lab network healthy.
• Troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, and connected devices.
• Maintain local network connectivity and manage user accounts on the local network.
• Support non-technical operators with day-to-day operational issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Linux administration experience (Fedora/RHEL preferred).
• Windows systems administration and support.
• Basic shell usage in Bash and PowerShell.
• Networking fundamentals, including DNS, static IPs, firewalls, and isolated networks.
• Experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible.

Preferred Skills

• Shell scripting proficiency in Bash and PowerShell.
• Basic PostgreSQL administration, including backups, user management, and simple queries.
• Experience with systemd services and Windows services management.
