Description

You will support the research community by providing guidance on information security matters and collaborating with local IT groups to implement security measures meeting NIST 800-171 standards.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategies to prepare the university for security audits and changing regulatory requirements, focusing on CMMC and NIST 800-171.
• Assess current security practices to identify gaps affecting compliance.
• Implement best practices and guidelines to strengthen cybersecurity measures.
• Support audit preparations and assist in implementing improvements.
• Develop an awareness and training program aligned with NIST to educate the organization.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in information security.
• Deep knowledge of NIST 800-171 standards.
• Experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
• Strong background in risk management.
• Ability to conduct security assessments and gap analysis.
• Experience developing security training and awareness programs.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience supporting research communities or academic institutions.
