Description

Own the security posture of the District’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the integrity of data and systems across all campuses. You will manage security policies, lead incident response, and collaborate with technical teams to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the Security Event Information Management (SEIM) system, data loss prevention software, and network authentication systems for wired and wireless access.
• Lead the development, testing, and implementation of security products, control techniques, and policies to prevent unauthorized data access or modification.
• Investigate security incidents, troubleshoot vulnerabilities, and coordinate with law enforcement or internal teams during breaches.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments with vendors, perform system audits, and recommend remedial measures to eliminate compromises.
• Manage security configurations for servers, firewalls, email security, and Microsoft 365 environments while ensuring timely patching and change management.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in information security, including incident response and vulnerability management.
• Hands-on expertise with SEIM tools, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Active Directory environments.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks including NIST 800 and ISO standards.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend security software such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and backup procedures.
• Troubleshooting skills for network equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and software license compliance laws.
• Experience developing security training and guidance for administrators and staff.
