Description

You design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and industry-standard tools.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java, defining standards, style guides, and governance processes.
• Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation, prototypes, and mock servers to validate designs.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and architect teams to translate requirements into API specifications.
• Support the full API lifecycle, including versioning, deprecation, and ensuring backward compatibility.
• Ensure APIs meet performance, security, and reliability standards through collaboration with QA and development teams.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
• Strong proficiency in Java for building RESTful APIs.
• Deep understanding of REST, gRPC, and event-driven API paradigms.
• Experience with API specification tools such as OpenAPI, Swagger, RAML, AsyncAPI, or Postman.
• Familiarity with API gateways, management platforms, and developer portals.
• Knowledge of security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, and API keys.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS (EKS), Microservices, and Domain-Driven Design architecture.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated API testing.
• Contributions to open-source API tools or standards.
