Description

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and industry-standard tools. Own the full API lifecycle, including versioning, deprecation, and backward compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java and industry-standard tools.
• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive API documentation and usage guides.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and Architect teams to gather requirements and translate them into API specifications.
• Define and enforce API design standards, style guides, and governance processes.
• Support the full API lifecycle, including versioning, deprecation, and backward compatibility.

Required Skills

• 10 years of applied experience in software engineering concepts.
• Proficiency with Restful APIs and Java.
• Experience with API specification tools: OpenAPI, Swagger, RAML, AsyncAPI, or Postman.
• Strong understanding of REST, GRPC, and/or event-driven API paradigms.
• Experience with API gateways, management platforms, and developer portals.
• Familiarity with security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, API keys, etc.).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS (EKS) and Micro Services/Domain Driven architecture.
• Experience with CICD Pipelines and automated API testing.
