Description

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Java and industry-standard tools.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement RESTful APIs using Java, ensuring robust architecture and performance.
• Own the full API lifecycle, including versioning, deprecation strategies, and maintaining backward compatibility.
• Create and maintain clear API documentation and usage guides using specification tools.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and Architect teams to translate requirements into precise API specifications.
• Define and enforce API design standards, style guides, and governance processes across teams.

Required Skills

• 10 years of applied experience in software engineering concepts.
• Strong proficiency with Java and Restful APIs.
• Experience with API specification tools: OpenAPI, Swagger, RAML, AsyncAPI, or Postman.
• Deep understanding of REST, gRPC, and/or event-driven API paradigms.
• Experience with API gateways, management platforms, and developer portals.
• Familiarity with security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, and API keys.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS (EKS) and Micro Services/Domain Driven architecture.
• Experience with CI/CD Pipelines and automated API testing.
