Description

You will develop and deploy enterprise APIs using Apigee and Java Spring Boot, modernizing legacy SOAP services to RESTful patterns.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable APIs with Java Spring Boot and Apigee Edge/X.
• Migrate legacy IBM ESB services (DataPower, WSRR, WAS) to modern REST architectures.
• Support the Apigee-to-Azure migration, ensuring smooth deployment and monitoring.
• Enforce API standards including YAML/OpenAPI, service intake, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and partner with business teams to align APIs with digital initiatives.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software development experience with hands-on API development.
• Strong backend skills in Java Spring Boot, REST API design, and integration.
• Experience with Apigee Edge or Apigee X, including proxy configuration and policies.
• Proficiency in REST, JSON, OAuth2, JWT, and SOAP.
• Experience deploying or managing APIs in Azure or GCP.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
• Familiarity with API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI) and testing tools like Postman.
• Understanding of API security concepts including mutual TLS, rate limiting, and token-based auth.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with observability tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Apigee Analytics.
• Background in banking, fintech, or regulated industries.
