Description

You will lead the technical design and modernization of large-scale, complex legacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for system modernization and multi-level architecture component interactions.
• Dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms.
• Develop tax processing system components and maintain existing processing systems.
• Guide requirements gathering, system design work, and the creation of technical design documents.
• Mentor less experienced staff and coordinate technical solutions across support groups.
• Perform performance tuning on new and existing applications and database interactions.

Required Skills

• 14+ years of professional experience in software development and architecture.
• 84 months of experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP, and XML.
• 84 months of Java programming within an IBM development environment using Rational Application Developer (RAD) deployed to WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• 84 months of IBM DB2 experience and expertise with XML schemas.
• 84 months of system analysis and design for multi-tiered transactional systems.
• 60 months of experience with IBM MQSeries.
• 60 months of experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
• 36 months of experience working within a government organization.
• Proficiency in SQL writing and tuning.
• Strong background in integration testing and coding standards.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in finance or tax processing systems.
