Description

Architect and lead the migration of Java applications to AWS, covering both Lift & Shift and modernization efforts.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, ALB).
• Decompose legacy monolithic applications into microservices using Java/Spring Boot.
• Create high-level and low-level architecture diagrams, integration patterns, and modernization strategies.
• Guide engineering teams on Java best practices, Spring ecosystem usage, distributed systems design, and performance optimization.
• Enable DevOps automation through CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and observability tooling (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in Java (versions 11, 17, or 21) with strong OOP and multi-threading knowledge.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Proven experience building REST APIs and event-driven microservices.
• Hands-on experience with core AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3, RDS PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Experience migrating applications between AWS accounts or into Landing Zones.
• Proficiency with SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab), and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.
