Description

You will architect and lead the migration of Java applications to AWS, covering both Lift & Shift and modernization efforts.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design cloud-native solutions utilizing AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
• Decompose legacy monolithic applications into microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Create high-level architecture diagrams, integration patterns, and the overall modernization strategy.
• Guide engineering teams on Java best practices, Spring ecosystem patterns, and distributed systems optimization.
• Enable DevOps automation by implementing CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and observability tooling.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience with Java (versions 11, 17, or 21) demonstrating strong OOP and multithreading skills.
• Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, and JPA/Hibernate.
• Proficiency in building REST APIs and designing event-driven, microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with core AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, S3, RDS PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• Experience migrating applications across AWS accounts or into Landing Zones.
• Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL experience (DynamoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab).
• Experience implementing observability using ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
