Description

You will lead the architectural migration of Java applications from AWS to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing AWS infrastructure, including EC2 instances, dependencies, and integrations.
• Design and execute migration strategies to transition Java applications to GCP with minimal downtime.
• Map AWS components like EC2, S3, and RDS to equivalent GCP services.
• Re-architect and refactor Java applications to optimize for performance and cost using GKE, Cloud Run, and Compute Engine.
• Lead containerization efforts using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE) for secure, optimized deployments.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Java development and architecture, including Java SE/EE, Spring, and Hibernate.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS and GCP services.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE) in production environments.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Jenkins for infrastructure automation and CI/CD.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, and Cloud Storage.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and cloud-native design patterns.
• Ability to manage IAM roles, encryption, and VPC configurations for cloud security.

Preferred Skills

• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging.
• Knowledge of implementing cloud-native architectures leveraging Pub/Sub and Google Cloud networking.
