Description

Design modern software systems to replace hybrid mainframe and Java architectures across fee billing, payment options, and books and records systems.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design high-performance systems and software architectures to replace legacy mainframe and Java environments.
• Define API specifications, including required inputs and outputs, and document them clearly.
• Determine the implementation strategy and timing for Kafka utilization within the distributed architecture.
• Lead senior Java developers through complex software and system design processes.
• Interface with high-level leadership to present and defend architectural decisions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software architecture and design.
• Deep expertise in Java.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services.
• Experience implementing Kafka for distributed systems.
• Proficiency with MongoDB or other document-based databases.
• Proven experience leading technical teams through system design.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with mainframe systems.
