Description

Lead the migration of legacy mainframe logic into a modern Java-based microservices architecture.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Java microservices using Spring Boot to replace existing mainframe functionality.
• Develop and maintain asynchronous data processing using Kafka for batches and streams.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure on AWS, including ECS, EC2, Elastic Cache, S3, and Route 53.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure automated and reliable release cycles.
• Collaborate within an Agile framework, completing assigned tasks within 2-week sprints and participating in PI planning.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with API design and development.
• Hands-on AWS experience: ECS, EC2, Elastic Cache, S3, and Route 53.
• Practical knowledge of Kafka for stream and batch processing.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling and practices.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Postgres database administration and optimization.
