Description

You will own the development, maintenance, and architecture of a global public API. You will drive technical strategy and resolve complex issues in distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve services by pairing with engineers across multiple teams.
• Drive architecture decisions by maintaining a high-level view of external API functions and usage.
• Trace bugs and errors through distributed systems to resolve complex issues.
• Lead technical discussions regarding system architecture, component design, and technical strategy.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle and a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of professional, non-internship backend software development experience.
• Deep GraphQL API backend experience, specifically owning and developing complex mutations.
• Proficiency in Java.
• Experience working with AWS.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of distributed systems and cloud architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience leading organization-wide projects in large engineering environments.
