Java Backend Developer based in Pittsburgh, PA, with remote flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
• Implement cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of backend systems.
• Write unit and integration tests to guarantee software reliability.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot and Microservices Architecture.
• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, JSON, and Web Services.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Step Functions) or other cloud providers.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
