Description

Build and maintain backend services and cloud-native applications.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement custom software and database capabilities with minimal oversight.
• Build, test, and deploy components using CI/CD pipelines.
• Optimize applications for performance, security, and non-functional requirements.
• Monitor application health and KPIs, performing root cause analysis for production issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful deployments and resolve platform issues.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security).
• Experience building microservices and cloud-native applications.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and JPA or other ORM tools.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with event-driven frameworks, specifically Kafka.
• Competency in unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with build and deployment tools like Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JBHeave for testing.
• Working knowledge of relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
