Build and maintain scalable backend services and distributed messaging systems in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement and manage Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing.
• Integrate Kafka with various services to ensure seamless data flow across the system.
• Optimize and troubleshoot Kafka clusters, brokers, topics, and configurations.
• Ensure code quality through automated tests, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in Java-based backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+ and Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud).
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka brokers, producers, consumers, and stream processing.
• Familiarity with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, and CI/CD pipelines with Git.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and event-driven architecture or CQRS.
