Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable microservices-based applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing RESTful APIs and web services.
• Work with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams for real-time data processing, event-driven architecture, and system integration.
• Monitor application, OCP, and Kafka processes and alerts, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Troubleshoot production issues using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Kibana.
• Perform application-level debugging, performance tuning, log analysis, and root-cause analysis.
• Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
• Manage daily incidents and alerts, including log reviews, impact assessment, reconciliation, and stakeholder communication.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and follow software development and source-code management best practices using Git.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work with Maven for dependency management and build automation.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues and improve operational processes.
• Review and implement change requests and participate in CAB discussions.
• Support BAU activities such as Disaster Recovery, Penetration Testing, and third-party change coordination.
• Provide regular technical updates to senior management regarding feature development, production support, and operational activities.
• Mentor and guide engineers in incident, problem, and change management while promoting technical excellence and ownership.
• Participate in on-call/rota schedules to support critical incidents and production changes.

Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, preferably Java 17.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Good knowledge of Kafka, with Kafka Streams experience preferred.
• Strong experience developing and maintaining REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and software development tools.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Kibana.
• Experience with application debugging, performance tuning, log analysis, and RCA.
• Knowledge of Oracle Database or other relational databases.
• Understanding of Agile development practices and continuous integration.
• Exposure to automated testing practices such as TDD, BDD, or Selenium is an advantage.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, Azure, or OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) is preferred.
• Strong experience in production support, incident management, and service operations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Willingness to participate in on-call/rota support.

Good to Have

• Banking or financial services domain experience.
• Knowledge of Faster Payments, BACS, or Image Clearing System.
• Experience working in high-availability and business-critical payment environments.
• Experience with Disaster Recovery, Penetration Testing, and third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of event-driven and cloud-native architectures.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Relevant technical certifications in Java, Cloud, Kafka, or DevOps are an added advantage
