Description

You will modernize and migrate Java/J2EE applications to AWS, re-architecting them to leverage cloud-native features for better scalability and agility.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture refinement and improvement for enterprise cloud migration projects.
• Design migration plans, deciding between replatforming or refactoring approaches.
• Lead the design and development of reference architectures for legacy JAVA/J2EE teams.
• Modify Java code to integrate with AWS services, potentially breaking monoliths into microservices.
• Define disaster recovery mechanisms and ensure cost-efficient architecture governance.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of hands-on experience migrating applications onto the AWS platform.
• Strong Java programming skills and experience with J2EE frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, JSF).
• Expertise in containerization technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid experience migrating applications from on-premises servers to AWS.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture and cloud computing concepts.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Knowledge of API Gateway, S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, and Lambda services.
• Understanding of DevOps practices for CI/CD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
