Description

Key Responsibilities**

- Design and develop robust, decoupled microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot to support system’s core payment flows, including FPS integration, refunds, settlements, and merchant onboarding.

- Build reliable, low-latency systems that integrate with internal banking platforms, external payment gateways, and regulatory-compliant services (e.g., ISO 20022 where applicable).

- Implement secure, testable code with strong focus on performance, resilience, and observability (e.g., using monitoring tools, logging, and distributed tracing).

- Collaborate on system architecture, code reviews, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality deliveries.

- Troubleshoot production issues, support incident resolution, and contribute to continuous improvement of system backend platform.

- Participate in feature definition, fraud/risk enhancements, and scalability initiatives for growing transaction volumes.


 

Skills /Competencies:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

- 3–8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with **strong Java expertise** (Java 8/11/17+).

- Proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and relational databases (e.g., Oracle/PostgreSQL).

- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Docker/Kubernetes, and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka).

- Solid understanding of payments domain, security best practices (e.g., encryption, OAuth, PCI-DSS principles), and high-availability systems.

- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in agile environments, and excellent communication in English (Cantonese/Mandarin is a plus)
