Description

Design, build, and maintain backend microservices and APIs for core payment systems.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop decoupled microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot for payment flows, including FPS, refunds, and settlements.
• Integrate internal banking platforms and external payment gateways while ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO 20022).
• Implement secure, testable code with a focus on performance, resilience, and observability via logging and distributed tracing.
• Collaborate on system architecture, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues, support incident resolution, and drive continuous improvement of the backend platform.

Required Skills

• 3–8+ years of hands-on backend development experience with strong Java expertise (Java 8/11/17+).
• Proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with messaging systems, specifically Kafka.
• Understanding of security best practices, including encryption, OAuth, and PCI-DSS principles.
• Ability to work in agile environments with strong problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin.
• Direct experience with payment domain systems and high-availability architectures.
