Description

You will design and develop software applications using Java, Scala, and modern Big Data and streaming platforms.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software applications and extensions using Java and Big Data technologies.
• Guide the integration and deployment of components across lab, QA, and production environments.
• Troubleshoot and analyze production issues to ensure system stability.
• Build REST services from the ground up and develop prototypes rapidly alongside regular feature development.
• Document work activity using Agile tools and Wiki-based content management systems.

Required Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Scala.
• Proficiency with Scala 2.11, Http4s, Play2, Akka, and Scalaz.
• Experience with Kafka, ELK, Hadoop, and Apache Spark.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services, specifically Lambda, S3, Kinesis, and SQS.
• Strong understanding of OOP and Functional programming paradigms.
• Practical experience with TDD and ATDD using Cucumber-JVM and ScalaTest.
• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and software design patterns.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
