Description

Lead the modernization of Department of Transportation web applications by migrating legacy systems to Spring Boot and microservices.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Migrate Java applications to Spring Boot using lift-and-shift or strangler patterns.
• Consult on the design and roadmap for transitioning applications toward a microservices architecture.
• Guide teams through migrating applications to containerized hosting environments.
• Develop application presentation layers using modern JavaScript or TypeScript technologies.
• Implement automated testing methodologies within build processes and solve complex technical problems.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Java development.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and MVC pattern implementation (Struts, Spring).
• Proficiency in modern presentation layer technologies such as Angular or React.
• Experience with microservices architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of container creation, deployment, and containerized hosting environments.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Familiarity with full lifecycle testing and automated build processes.
• Experience working within Agile Scrum project management methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
