Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices.
• Build and support Kafka integrations.
• Work with AWS services and backend databases.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and implement practical solutions.
• Explain design decisions and approaches grounded in actual project experience.

Qualifications

• Required
  • Java 17 or newer with strong hands-on coding ability and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Direct, practical experience building Spring Boot microservices and explaining technical challenges and solutions.
  • Practical Kafka implementation experience beyond resume listing.
  • Hands-on experience supporting backend applications in AWS.
  • Experience integrating applications with databases.
  • At least 6–12 years of professional experience with the above skill set.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Ability to explain personal contributions and technical decisions from previous projects.
  • Comfortable coding live while sharing a screen and using an IDE.
  • Willingness to work onsite in New York City every weekday for the initial contract term
