Description

Develop, maintain, and modernize backend applications and microservices using Java, Python, and Perl.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build RESTful APIs and microservices, refactoring legacy Perl applications into modern architectures.
• Design and implement SQL queries, stored procedures, and data-processing workflows for relational databases.
• Deploy applications to cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) or on-premise Linux/Unix environments.
• Create automation scripts and system tools to support IT operations and batch processing.
• Debug complex issues, participate in technical design sessions, and maintain system documentation.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with Java (Spring Boot, Maven) and Python.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Ingres, including query optimization.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, backend architecture, and microservices patterns.
• Experience with Git/Subversion, Linux/Unix environments, and version-controlled development.
• Ability to debug and resolve complex issues across multiple languages and platforms.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with Perl for scripting, system utilities, or legacy app maintenance.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in ETL, data pipelines, or legacy system migration projects.
