Description

Build and maintain scalable backend applications and distributed systems using Java.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop new APIs and host endpoints for backend services.
• Design and implement highly available, scalable distributed systems.
• Execute development and quality assurance activities, including integration testing and UAT with external vendors.
• Apply design patterns and object-oriented programming principles to solve complex system design problems.
• Drive testing processes using automation frameworks and QA methodologies.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Java backend application development (or 3+ years with an MS).
• Deep understanding of Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and the Spring framework.
• Experience building Microservices and working with REST/JSON web services.
• Proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and data collections.
• Hands-on experience with RDBMS such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, or Informatica.
• Experience working in Unix-based development environments.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Strong grasp of design patterns and system design.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with JUnit and Selenium for test automation.
• Background working in the payments or financial services industry.
