Description

You will design and maintain scalable backend services and microservices architectures using Java and cloud-native technologies.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize high-performance APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and modern frameworks.
• Migrate monolithic applications to microservices patterns and implement cloud-native 12-factor apps.
• Manage asynchronous messaging and data streaming using Kafka and Redis.
• Deploy and orchestrate services on GCP/GKE or AWS using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement API security, analytics, caching, and throttling in support of SaaS applications.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise web applications, with a backend focus.
• Expert Java programming knowledge on latest JDK versions and the Spring framework.
• 5+ years of experience with public cloud services (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Proficiency with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases, including Cloud Spanner.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product engineering collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, and open-source packages from Apache, Google, and Spring.
• Demonstrated track record of extensive monolith-to-microservices migration projects.
