Description

Design and develop end-to-end NLP applications for medical entity extraction and text mining.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Java applications for NLP tasks, including text representation and semantic extraction.
• Build databases to store extracted entities and relationships, ensuring robust data structures.
• Implement classification algorithms and extend machine learning libraries to support specific NLP requirements.
• Train, evaluate, and refine models through statistical analysis of results.
• Design software architecture and implement appropriate algorithms for healthcare data.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as an NLP Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proven experience with Clinical NLP tools, specifically cTakes and UIMA.
• Strong Java development experience with ability to write testable code.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as Keras, BERT, or OpenNLP.
• Experience with scikit-learn and deep understanding of NLP techniques.
• Knowledge of ontology tools and technologies.

Preferred Skills

• Deep understanding of the healthcare domain.
