Description

Own the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems and microservices.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Take ownership of complex features, guiding teams through design, development, and delivery.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in coding standards and SOLID principles.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with messaging systems like Kafka.
• Debug complex issues and optimize application performance using JVM fundamentals and concurrency tools.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of software development experience building scalable backend systems.
• Strong expertise in Core Java, including collections, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Spring JPA/Hibernate.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including mentoring and code reviews.
• Strong understanding of OOP concepts, design patterns, and system design.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch for search or observability.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting or automation.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
