Description

You will lead the modernization of a legacy WebSphere application, migrating it to a Spring Boot API and Angular UI architecture.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Drive the migration from XML-based Spring and DB2 to Spring Boot and AWS Aurora.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs for seamless front-end and back-end integration.
• Maintain the existing legacy system while building the new modern application.
• Own production deployments, including work outside standard business hours when necessary.
• Apply object-oriented design patterns and best practices within the Spring ecosystem.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience with Java (1.8+) and core concepts like IoC and bean lifecycles.
• 8+ years of experience with the Spring Framework (XML) and Spring Boot 3+.
• 8+ years of experience with JMS and MQ.
• 8+ years of experience with SQL/RDBMS, specifically DB2 and Postgres.
• 3+ years of experience with Single Page Applications, preferably Angular.
• 2-3 years of experience with AWS services.
• Experience deploying Java Spring Boot services via Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in unit testing using JUnit and Mockito, and version control via Git.

Preferred Skills

• Experience migrating RDBMS databases from DB2 to AWS Aurora (Postgres).
• Experience leading hybrid teams across the USA and India.
• Experience with Atlassian Bamboo CI/CD or PrimeFaces UI Framework.
