Description

You will lead engineering efforts to deliver high-performance, scalable Java applications within a Scrum environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Optimize Java-based microservices for performance, low latency, and high throughput.
• Transition monolithic architectures to microservices using modularity and scalable design patterns.
• Implement event-driven architectures using message brokers for distributed systems.
• Manage application deployment and orchestration using containerization and orchestration tools.
• Drive engineering outcomes through JVM performance tuning, memory management, and garbage collection optimization.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Core Java (Java 17+).
• Strong understanding of Java Memory Models, JVM tuning, and multi-threading/concurrency.
• Experience with reactive programming frameworks like Akka, Quarkus, or Vert.x.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for managing distributed applications.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ for event streaming.
• Practical knowledge of SQL (Postgres) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Experience with gRPC and serialization formats such as Protocol Buffers or Avro.
• Competency with Spring framework and cloud-native tools including Ansible, Helm, and AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, TDD, and automated testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP).
• Background in the banking or payments industry.
• Knowledge of Redis for caching.
