Description

You will engineer and document telecommunication transmission systems to deliver voice, video, data, and wireless services across regional and national converged networks.

Responsibilities

• Design circuits for varied services including Ethernet, IP, WIFI, and SIP.
• Perform network planning for access rings, customer premise equipment, and interconnect facilities.
• Manage data accuracy within the circuit database for all engineering designs.
• Analyze bandwidth utilization to determine necessary ring upgrades and ring splits.
• Maintain service order queues and complete tasks within established SLAs.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 1 year of experience engineering, provisioning, or troubleshooting Layer II and Layer III networks.
• Working knowledge of IP, Ethernet, SONET, DWDM, DOCSIS, video, and telephone technologies.
• Experience with circuit design ranging from DS-0 to DWDM.
• Ability to analyze network capacity and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills for complex network architectures.

Preferred Skills

• Industry standard certifications such as Cisco CCNA or Nokia NRS I.
• Working knowledge of Nokia (formerly Alcatel Lucent) routers and switches.
• Experience with MPLS hub and spoke architectures.
