Description

Support the SOC lead in day-to-day cybersecurity operations, network security assessments, and compliance monitoring for on-premise and cloud environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to daily network alerts and analyze logs for potential threats.
• Conduct technical analysis for network security planning and engineering, including firewall configuration reviews.
• Assist in maturing network security solutions and ensure compliance with ARC-AMPE, HIPAA, and FISMA standards.
• Review connectivity and firewall rule requests to mitigate elevated risks to the agency.
• Monitor emerging threat vectors and recommend countermeasures to technical teams.

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, or IT security support.
• Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of secure network design principles, switching, and routing.
• Experience with Enterprise Firewalls, IDS/IPS platforms, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Ability to analyze network telemetry and logs using SIEM platforms.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments (HIPAA, FISMA, NIST, CMS ARC-AMPE).
• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Network security certification such as PCNSE or CCNA.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud infrastructure security (Azure or AWS).
• Proficiency with SIEM tools like QRadar or Splunk.
