Description

  • Active Directory & Identity Management: User and group administration, Active Directory management and basic Group Policy (GPO) implementation.
  • Virtualization: Hands-on experience configuring and administering virtual servers in VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
  • Core Network Services: Configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of DNS, DHCP, DFS and Certificates.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Basic network troubleshooting (diagnosing connectivity, switch/port status verification), infrastructure setup (switches, access points, cabling).
  • System Maintenance & Backups: Applying system patches/updates, maintaining and verifying backup and recovery systems and participating in disaster recovery (DR) testing.
  • Scripting & Cloud: Basic PowerShell knowledge and familiarity/interest in cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Monitoring & Operations: System and network monitoring tools, incident tracking via ServiceNow, asset management and creating/maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support daily operations, maintenance, patching and security updates for server, storage and core network infrastructure.
  • Provision, manage and troubleshoot Active Directory accounts, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, DFS and server certificates.
  • Administer virtual infrastructure within VMware and Hyper-V environments.
  • Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues, verify physical switch ports and assist with infrastructure hardware deployments (switches, APs, cabling).
  • Execute, verify and document backup schedules and participate in regular DR drills.
  • Log, track and resolve incidents in ServiceNow while maintaining inventory and infrastructure documentation.
  • Provide multi-site infrastructure support, participate in an on-call rotation and execute after-hours maintenance as scheduled.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on IT experience in desktop support, help desk, or junior systems administration roles.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Technical Institute degree/certificate in Information Systems/IT (or equivalent work experience).
  • Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Azure Fundamentals.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Mobility & Schedule: Willingness to travel to remote Turnpike locations as needed; available for after-hours work and on-call rotations.
  • Equipment Mandate: The vendor/contractor must maintain a smartphone with an active data plan that complies with FDOT security standards (capable of receiving OS security updates and running Outlook, Teams and ServiceNow)
