Description

You will support data operations, quality assurance, and ad-hoc data delivery for internal teams and clients.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Triage data issues by investigating L2/L3 support tickets, writing queries to narrow problems, and documenting findings.
• Deliver ad-hoc data requests and custom exports while managing competing priorities.
• Validate spatial and tabular datasets for accuracy before client or leadership consumption.
• Assist with onboarding new data sources into the ETL pipeline, covering setup through validation.
• Build knowledge of data pipeline architecture, tracking data flow and identifying potential failure points.

Required Skills

• SQL proficiency: writing queries with JOINs, filtering, and aggregation beyond basic SELECT.
• Programming exposure in Python or R with actual coding experience.
• Understanding of data movement workflows from databases and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with ticketing workflows such as JIRA or Asana.
• Understanding of version control concepts (commits, branches, pull requests) using Git.
• Experience with data analysis or technical support roles (0-2 years).
• Clear written communication skills for documentation and ticketing.
• Capability to context-switch and work independently with minimal hand-holding.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with spatial data formats (GeoJSON, Shapefiles) or GIS tools.
• Exposure to ETL concepts or pipeline tools like Airflow or dbt.
• Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
