Description

You will develop and maintain PostgreSQL databases, focusing on schema design, scripting, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PostgreSQL schema objects, including tables, views, indexes, and sequences.
• Write, test, and optimize psql scripts, stored procedures, and functions using PL/pgSQL.
• Implement and tune SQL queries for performance; create and maintain appropriate indexes.
• Support ETL/data ingestion tasks, data validation, and transformation processes.
• Troubleshoot DB-related issues, analyze query plans, and resolve performance bottlenecks.

Required Skills

• 1–3 years working with PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency with psql and writing PL/pgSQL functions and stored procedures.
• Strong SQL skills: joins, window functions, subqueries, aggregates, and query optimization basics.
• Familiarity with database design principles, normalization, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with schema migration tools or scripts.
• Basic understanding of backup/restore procedures and transactional consistency.
• Proficiency with Git and basic Linux shell commands.
• Good debugging, analytical, and communication skills.
