Description

You will develop and modify detailed Outside Plant engineering drawings and designs based on field notes and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed drawings using AutoCAD and QGIS from field engineering sketches and layouts.
• Translate field notes into updated conduit and cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD.
• Verify drawing plots against project inputs to ensure correctness and conformance to industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineers on model accuracy, design, and industry-standard drafting.
• Develop high-level designs to support manufacturing operations and product quality.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in telecom or OSP engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and QGIS.
• Fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant, including running line, conduit, and cable design for fiber optics.
• Experience designing for manholes, hand holes, and aerial or underground poles.
• Understanding of public right-of-way, private easements, and existing utilities like water, sewer, electric, and gas.
• Ability to read blueprints, conduit prints, and floor plans.
• Experience reading and creating permit drawings and applications.
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with GPON and Corning Flexnap products.
• Knowledge of municipality encroachment permits, Traffic Control, and specialty permits such as UPRR or Caltrans.
