Description

Administer Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environments while providing first-line technical support and developing basic-to-intermediate reports.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer Power BI workspaces, applications, semantic models, dataflows, gateways, and deployment pipelines.
• Process access requests, manage workspace roles, and escalate identity or service-principal issues.
• Monitor gateway status, scheduled refreshes, and usage metrics; document findings and support operational reporting.
• Maintain and update PowerShell scripts and REST API processes for inventory, reporting, and administrative data collection.
• Create and maintain reports using Power Query, DAX, SQL, and star schemas; troubleshoot semantic models.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including workspaces and applications.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and SQL for data modeling and report development.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including star schemas and relationships.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, security groups, and service principals.
• Experience administering gateways, scheduled refreshes, and capacity monitoring.
• Ability to write and maintain PowerShell scripts and interact with REST APIs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with row-level security (RLS) implementation and optimization.
• Knowledge of deployment pipelines and lifecycle management in Power BI.
