Description

You own the administration and operational health of Kafka clusters. This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Kafka clusters across on-prem and cloud environments.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization using Prometheus, Grafana, and Confluent Control Center.
• Manage Kafka topics, partitions, replication, and retention policies.
• Implement security controls, including TLS, Kerberos, and RBAC, following security best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting Kafka brokers, producers, and consumers.

Required Skills

• 3–5 years of dedicated experience administering Kafka in enterprise settings.
• 10+ years of overall experience in software engineering.
• Strong understanding of Kafka internals, ZooKeeper, and Kafka Connect.
• Experience managing Kafka in cloud-native environments (AWS MSK, Confluent Cloud, or self-managed on Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Kafka and core technologies like AWS.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and general software engineering principles.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degrees.
• 3 years of relevant job tenure.
