You will own the administration, security, and operational stability of enterprise Kafka clusters across on-prem and cloud environments.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Kafka clusters, topics, partitions, and replication policies.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and capacity using Prometheus, Grafana, and Confluent Control Center.
• Implement and enforce security controls including TLS, Kerberos, and RBAC.
• Troubleshoot broker, producer, and consumer issues to maintain high availability.
• Automate operational tasks and support upgrades, patching, and disaster recovery planning.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3–5 years in Kafka administration.
• Deep understanding of Kafka internals, Zookeeper, and Kafka Connect.
• Experience with cloud-native Kafka (AWS MSK, Confluent Cloud) or self-managed on Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience collaborating with platform architects on real-time data use cases.
• Strong background in infrastructure-as-code tools.
