Description

You will manage the Kafka Streaming Platform as an SRE, ensuring high availability and reliability.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Kafka platform by adhering to runbooks and SOPs to resolve application and platform issues.
• Execute cluster maintenance and implement changes following documented installation and validation plans.
• Troubleshoot and debug platform and service problems to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct root cause analysis for major production incidents and implement proactive reliability measures.
• Automate routine tasks and manual processes to reduce human error and increase system reliability.

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in Kafka administration and SRE roles.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka architecture, including producers, consumers, topics, and partitions.
• Experience troubleshooting both Kafka platform services and application-level problems.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux system internals and networking.
• Understanding of distributed systems.
• Ability to write Ansible playbooks to automate manual tasks.

Preferred Skills

• Python scripting.
• Shell scripting.
