Description

Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Apache Kafka clusters to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage cluster health, broker performance, consumer lag, and producer latency using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Configure topics, partitions, replication factors, and data retention policies.
• Implement security protocols including SSL/TLS encryption, Kerberos authentication, and ACLs.
• Provide 3rd-level support for broker, producer, or consumer issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Design replication strategies for disaster recovery and automate routine tasks using Ansible or Terraform.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or Confluent Kafka.
• Strong Linux system administration skills.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Bash, or Java.
• Experience with containerization tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Zookeeper or KRaft migration and management.
• Knowledge of Ansible or Puppet for infrastructure automation.
