Description

You will manage and support critical 24/7 Kafka applications and infrastructure, owning the full lifecycle of cluster administration from sizing to disaster recovery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure Kafka clusters on ROSA in AWS and on-premise OpenShift platforms.
• Automate Kafka pipeline deployments using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and shell scripts.
• Implement security and authorization protocols, including Kerberos, SSL, and ACL configurations.
• Manage end-to-end cluster administration, including broker sizing, topic sizing, backup, and mirroring.
• Maintain high availability through cluster setup, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery planning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Kafka administration and cluster management.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Zookeeper, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and KSQL.
• Proficiency with Kafka Control Center, Rest Proxy, Mirror Maker, or Confluent Replicator.
• Experience managing Kafka clusters on Kubernetes and Docker.
• Practical knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, and shell scripting.
• Implementation experience with ACL, Kerberos, and SSL security configurations.
• Familiarity with Chef or Jenkins for deployment automation.
• Knowledge of Kafka API.

Preferred Skills

• Development experience with Kafka API.
