Description

You will manage and maintain high-throughput Kafka platforms and their associated technical architecture.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Implement Kafka platform provisioning, including broker, topic, and hardware sizing.
• Configure security and authorization on clusters, managing ACLs for consumers and producers.
• Execute backup and mirroring of Kafka cluster brokers using Kafka Mirror Maker.
• Design and assemble technical architecture components based on business requirements.
• Maintain high availability cluster setups and provide post-implementation support.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 2 years with an advanced degree.
• Expertise in Kafka, Zookeeper, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL, Rest Proxy, and Kafka Mirror Maker.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Ruby, Bash, or NodeJS.
• Strong understanding of OS (RHEL/CentOS), SAN Storage, Networking, Load Balancers, SSL/TLS, and Firewalls.
• Experience with security, performance, and disaster recovery best practices.
• Knowledge of Kafka API.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Automation experience using Chef or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem.
