Description

Administer enterprise Apache Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, security, and performance tuning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters using Confluent Platform, ZooKeeper, or KRaft.
• Automate operational tasks and deployments using Ansible and Python scripting.
• Monitor cluster health and troubleshoot production issues using Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX.
• Implement Kafka security protocols including SSL/TLS, SASL, Kerberos, and ACLs.
• Support production upgrades, maintenance, and disaster recovery planning.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Linux administration and infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in Apache Kafka and Confluent Kafka cluster administration.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and tooling.
• Strong experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and ZooKeeper/KRaft.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and JMX for monitoring and performance tuning.
• Solid understanding of Kafka security models (SSL/TLS, SASL, Kerberos, ACLs).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and high-availability architectures.
