Description

You will own the design, implementation, and support of the Apache Kafka platform.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain Kafka infrastructure, including clusters, topics, and connectors.
• Configure and fine-tune Kafka brokers, producers, and consumers to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot cluster issues, system alerts, and event-driven workflows.
• Implement security protocols including access controls, authentication (SSL/SASL), and encryption.
• Execute disaster recovery and high availability strategies for all Kafka deployments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Kafka Administrator or in a similar role.
• Deep knowledge of Apache Kafka architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Proficiency in Kafka installation, configuration, and management.
• Strong Linux/Unix system administration and networking skills.
• Experience with Kafka ecosystem tools including Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell or Python.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.

Preferred Skills

• Confluent Certified Developer or Administrator certification.
• Experience with container technologies like Kubernetes.
