Description

You will manage and scale multi-node Kafka clusters across Confluent and open-source environments.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kafka clusters in ZooKeeper and KRaft modes.
• Perform installations, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance for Kafka, Connect, Schema Registry, and REST Proxy.
• Implement security protocols including SSL/TLS, SASL, ACLs, and role-based access control.
• Manage Kafka topics, replication, partitioning, and log compaction for high-throughput workloads.
• Troubleshoot cluster issues using Splunk, Prometheus, and Dynatrace to ensure stability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Kafka administration.
• Hands-on experience with Confluent and open-source Kafka.
• Proficiency with Kafka Connect (source/sink) and Schema Registry management.
• Experience managing Kafka in containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Ability to implement security via SSL/TLS, SASL, and RBAC.
• Direct experience with Splunk, Prometheus, and Dynatrace for monitoring.
• Knowledge of CI/CD integration using Terraform, GitHub, Bitbucket, and UCD.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ZooKeeper migration or KRaft-only deployments.
